Snow at Beech Mountain
We’re so happy to see snow blanketing Beech Mountain. One of the great benefits of membership in a true four-season club is the excitement of a new season’s worth of adventures and activities in the high country.
The Alpen Haus, our private ski lodge adjacent to Beech Mountain Resort’s ski slopes, has the fireplace blazing and a newly expanded menu of classic favorites. Early reports are that the guacamole bacon grilled cheese is generating a lot of interest and may overtake the loaded chicken nachos in popularity. A thrilling day of skiing or snowboarding needs nutritional fuel to keep going, and our members love the convenient yet relaxed and cozy atmosphere away from the bustling crowds on the public slopes.
As we enjoy all this snow and admire our breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, we can almost forget that it’s only a few months until these ski runs will be transformed into mountain biking trails. With 28 miles of trails to roam on Beech Mountain, hikers will be soaking up the springtime sun and making excited plans for the summer ahead.
We may be best known for our mile-high, Willard Byrd-designed ridgetop 18-hole golf course with views of mountain ranges in three states, and one of the high country’s premier tennis and pickleball facilities with certified USTPA and IPTPA professional instructors and stadium seating for over 100 spectators, but we know that every summer there will be plenty of members who prefer to keep it leisurely. Outdoor concerts. Swimming in our heated pool. Canoeing and fishing on trout-stocked lakes. Movies and video games at the recreation campus.
And even those quiet summer nights won’t last too long… our mountain vista will eventually be painted with the changing leaves, and before you know it, we’re getting excited by the smell of snow in the air again.
